Free-space optical communicaton (FSO) is an optical communication technology that transfers data using light traveling through free space (air, outer space or a vacuum). This developing communication technology will allow for larger data volumes to be transmitted through longer distances.

We are currently researching FSO technologies to increase communication capabilities for near-earth applications to deep space missions.
